My first excursions into buying records involved purchasing those compilations of records from the charts, so my first album was probably something like "Top of The Pops 1971". I was too naive to realise that the tracks weren't played by the original artists. It was no surprise that they were so disappointing.

My second stage of development was prompted by hearing a record that my eldest sister's boyfriend played. I was so gripped by the music that I just had to buy it, even though it was an expensive album and I had very little pocket money. The album was "Echoes" by Pink Floyd.
